Bronchos Send the Pirates Home, 58-32

Central High chalked up their first win of the season on Friday, beating Cyril in a high-scoring Homecoming game. The Bronchos came out strong right out of the gate and kept momentum through all four quarters, ultimately scoring 58 to the Pirates’ 32.

The scoreboard first lit up with 10:01 left in the first quarter, with Bryson Johnson’s 29-yard run into the end zone and a successful two-point conversion. Alex Allen scored almost immediately after on an 11-yard run with 9:42 left in the first, bringing the score to 14-0.

Cyril responded with 6:21 left in the first with a 35-yard run for a 14-6 score after a failed conversion attempt.

Johnson bookended the first quarter with another score following a 45-yard run, with the Bronchos successfully getting the two-point tack-on to bring the Bronchos up 22-6 over the Pirates.

Cyril answered in the second quarter with two TDs (27-yard run and a 47-yard pass) but Central High just kept blowing by, doubling their score with another 22 points from Jax Hansen (2 yard run) and Alex Allen (4- and 2-yard runs).

The third quarter saw Cyril on the scoreboard again, answered by Central High with Johnson’s 35-yard pass to Landon Burton.

The Pirates battled again with 6:37 left in the game and a 15-yard run for six, followed by the Bronchos’ Johnson running 43 yards with 4:22 remaining.
