Jenny Louise Gay Temple Brewer McElroy

Jenny Louise Gay Temple Brewer McElroy passed away at her home in Norman Oklahoma surrounded by her family on September 7th after an extended illness. What a blessing that God gave us the promises of his kingdom and in 2 Corinthians 5:8: “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord”. She was born in Marlow, Oklahoma on October 28, 1933 to Joel and Sarah Brewer. Jenny was the youngest of 3 daughters who preceded her in death. Jenny grew up in Marlow Oklahoma and married Glenn McElroy in July of 1950. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in July 2020. She obtained an undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in teaching. She taught for 25 years in the Mid-Del school System in English and became a reading specialist teaching other how to read. She is survived by her husband Glenn McElroy, her two sons Micheal and Joel McElroy and spouses, her daughter Ginger Skinner, and her 6 grandchildren, Jessica McElroy, Elizabeth McElroy, Adam McElroy, Amanda Skinner, Amy Skinner and Nolan Skinner. What an incredible friend and mother she will always be in our heart. She is a beloved wife and teacher and she will be missed by many. Viewing will be at the John M. Ireland and Son Funeral home in Moore Oklahoma on Wednesday, September 9, from 4-8 pm. Graveside services are in Marlow Cemetery in Marlow, Oklahoma on Thursday September 10th at 11am.
