Thaylia Darlene Casteel, 72, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Duncan.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, March 26, 2021, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Thaylia was born Saturday, September 11, 1948 in Oklahoma City, to Julius and Emma (Watkins) Smith. She was a 1966 graduate of Anadarko High School. Thaylia married Johnny Mack Casteel July 7, 1969 in Oklahoma City, and they celebrated 37 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. She had lived in the Marlow area for the last 45 years, and worked as a sales clerk in retail. Thaylia enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and enjoyed cooking for the church and providing food for funeral dinners. She was always available to help those in need. Most of all, Thaylia loved her family and loved taking care of her grandkids, and she will be deeply missed.
Survivors include, 2 daughters, Shelly Chapman of Verona, MO, and Julia Morrison of Marlow, 6 grandchildren, Shayla Pierce, Chance Casteel, Tristan Morrison, Amber Traux, Travis Traux, Jr., and Bryan Keith Casteel, Jr. 4 sisters, Margie Klusmeyer and husband Bob, Stella Richardson, Freedia McHorse, and Sioux Nell Smith-Vann, and brother Randy Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Bryan Keith Casteel and 13 brothers and sisters.
