Students Honored at Academic Banquet

Marlow High School seniors received over $25,000 in scholarships on Tuesday night at the 25th annual Academic Banquet, held in the high school gymnasium. Marlow High School alumnus Tyler Fikes was the keynote speaker.

The event is funded by over 30 local donors, including businesses and individuals. Although attendance had to be limited and a meal was not served due to COVID-19 restrictions, the school administration celebrated the academic achievements of all four classes.

Students who qualify for the honor for the first time receive a pin acknowledging their success. Additional stones are added to the pin for subsequent qualifying years, and seniors who qualify receive scholarships.

Seniors who have attended the Academic Banquet all four years and have a 4.0 unweighted grade point average receive the highest scholarship amount as well as a commemorative clock. The top scholarship amount this year was $1100; fifteen seniors received the honor.
