by Elizabeth Pitts-Hibbard

Marlow fans will take the home field side at Chad Richison Stadium at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond for the State 2A Championship game on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm. The Marlow Review staff has compiled information from Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA), UCO, and Marlow High School Athletic Department for fans traveling to the game.

Tickets: Fans may purchase tickets in advance through the OSSAA website: ossaa.com. Online tickets are $11.50 each, which includes a $1.50 service charge. Tickets will also be available at the gate; the cash price is $13.00. School-age children and above will need a ticket to enter.

Parking: UCO has provided a map indicating fan parking, disability parking, and bus drop-off areas of the campus; see page PAGE of this edition of the Marlow Review.

Gates: The ticket booth and gates will open at 5:30pm. In the event of a delay due to the game scheduled beforehand, gate openings and kickoff time may be adjusted accordingly. Those delays will be broadcast on the stadium public address system as well as on OSSAA website and social media.

Stadium security: Fans will be required to comply with metal detector and security screening procedures; all bags will be subject to search. UCO has adopted a clear bag policy that limits bags to clear plastic, vinyl or PVC materials no later than 12” x 6” x 12”. Non-transparent clutch bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” are permitted. Diaper bags must accompany an age-appropriate child. Bags necessary for approved medical equipment are permitted, but subject to search. Only one blanket per person is allowed.

Prohibited Items: Alcoholic beverages, backpacks, beach balls/balloons, banners/signs larger than 24 x 36”, cameras with extended lenses (permitted for press only), firearms/explosives, large purses or binocular cases, drones, pets (service dogs only; no emotional support animals), coolers, containers, ice chests, food/beverage (baby food products permitted), laser pointers, stadium seats over 18” wide, umbrellas

Tailgating: Tailgating is permitted in lots adjacent to the stadium. Grills must be placed on a level paved surface, no fewer than 20 feet from structures including tents. Grills with open flames are not permitted; grills must be turned off before tailgaters enter the game. Fans are encouraged to limit tents to 10’ x 10’ and UCO requests that tents be taken down prior to the game.

Signs and Noisemakers: Signs and banners may be displayed on the home side of the field. Spirit lines are limited to cheer and pom members. Noisemakers are permitted unless the officials determine that the noise conflicts with on-field play.

Field Access: Fans will have field access for post-game celebration and trophy presentation. The scoreboard clock will count down the length of celebration time.

Streaming: Championship games are exclusively streamed by National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) on the organization’s network. Fans may sign up for an NFJS Network subscription on the OSSAA website or at nfhsnetwork.com.
