The DRH Health Volunteer Auxiliary gifted $185,000 to DRH Health which covers the cost of three items that will benefit patients and the hospital team.

Items include two lead aprons, which help minimize the dosage of the radioactivity of the wearer, and two patient lifts. Patient lifts help to safely transfer patients (i.e., from the bed to a chair) while protecting our nursing team from possible injury. Finally, the funds will provide an upgrade to the hospital-wide phone system.

“The Auxiliary is always willing to help out DRH Health whenever and wherever we can. We are happy to donate to purchase needed medical equipment and the upgrades and new equipment for our phone systems. We need good phone communication to do what we do!” said Vicki Vermedahl, Auxiliary President.

The DRH Health Volunteer Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization that raises money for the hospital and awards scholarships to students pursuing a healthcare career. The Auxiliary raises funds by operating the hospital gift shop and sponsoring various fundraisers. The Auxiliary currently has openings for volunteers.
