Senior Sunday – Each month on the second Sunday, the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center & Garis Gallery of the American West has a free admission day for all seniors, 55 or older. If you haven’t been to the Center in a while, this is a great opportunity to visit. They are open 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Let’s Talk About It is a book club program offered by the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center, in connection with Oklahoma Humanities. November’s discussion series will be led by Ken Hada, and features “Lonesome Dove” by Larry McMurtry. This discussion will be 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Heritage Center. This segment is one of a five-part discussion series in The Cowboy theme. Books are available to borrow from the Heritage Center for those who want to participate in this on-going discussion. Created to encourage people to read and discuss literature. Other books that were in this series: “Cowboy Life: Reconstructing an American Myth” with intro and afterword by William W. Savage, Jr.; “The Virginian” by Owen Wister; “The Log of a Cowboy” by Andy Adams; and “Monte Walsh” by Jack Schaefer.
