May 29, 2019

Duncan resident Jessica Garvin, a licensed assisted living administrator, licensed nursing home administrator, and co-founder of Bison Health Management announced today that she is running as a Republican for the Oklahoma State Senate District 43, which encompasses portions of Garvin, Grady, McClain, and Stephens Counties.

“My passion has been demonstrated throughout my professional career by improving Oklahoma’s health care system, mental health programs, rural healthcare, education, community improvement, and small business growth,” said Garvin. “After thoughtful consideration, discussions with family, friends, and prayer, I feel called to serve not only the district, but to continue the momentum of Oklahoma’s turnaround.”

In May of 2019, Garvin was nationally recognized as a leader in the long-term care industry when she was selected as one of twenty-one women under the age of 40 from across the US and Canada who has made major contributions to the quality of life of senior adults in North America. Garvin is a member of various boards and organizations such as the Beautiful Day foundation, United Way of Stephens County, Lions Club International, and currently serves as the Oklahoma Assisted Living Association Treasurer.

“Oklahoma’s turnaround has started, and I am dedicated to continue that by helping to improve the quality of life for all Oklahomans, continuing to improve the education system, pursuing improvements to our state’s infrastructure, and making critical improvements to rural healthcare and mental health, which affects the residents in District 43.”

Garvin was raised in Marlow and is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communication. She resides in Duncan with her husband of 11 years, Stephen, an employee of the Department of Human Services, and their three children, Brooks (8), Kollins (5), and Tress (1).
