The Marlow Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) recently started selling tickets for a first-ever fundraiser that the organizers hope will be a success for supporting local schools and the Beautiful Day Foundation.

The Harlem Wizards will visit Marlow for the first time on April 17 at 7pm for “an evening of fun and fundraising,” according to the PTO. The Wizards will play the “Blue Crew” team made up of teachers, administrators, coaches, community leaders, and a local television celebrity.

“We are delighted to host the Wizards,” said PTO president Kara Choate. “They are superb showmen who deliver fantastic all-ages entertainment for a great cause.”

Before the game, any student wearing a Wizards jersey can warm up with the team, and audience members will be asked to participate in contests and acts throughout the game. The end of the game will involve all students in a dance celebration with the Wizards.

Tickets are currently on sale, and tickets sold to students from surrounding schools will have a portion of the proceeds donated back to that school.

Founded in 1962, the Harlem Wizards have played over 15,000 games throughout the United States and have raised over $25 million for schools and charities.

The current Wizards roster features several master showmen, including former Globetrotters and acclaimed tricksters and slam dunk stars such as Eric “Broadway” Jones and Dwayne “Swoop” Simpson, Arnold “A-Train” Bernard, Jordan “Ice” Southerland, and Rashaan “The Rocket” Barner, one of the greatest dunkers in Wizards history.

Several levels of ticket prices are on sale now and may be purchased at www.harlemwizards.com.
