by Elizabeth Pitts-Hibbard

Information released today by the Oklahoma State Department of Health indicates a sharp increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, not only state-wide but within Stephens County.

As a state, Oklahoma now has 5680 confirmed cases, an increase of 148 over yesterday’s report. Cases in Stephens County rose by 11 after several days of steady numbers.

There are currently 36 confirmed cases of the virus in Stephens County, with one death and 21 recovered. Marlow (2 cases, no deaths, 2 recovered) has not experienced a change in the case count for weeks, nor has Comanche (8 cases, 1 death, 5 recovered).

The jump in Stephens County is in Duncan, where yesterday’s report had 15 cases and 14 recovered; today’s report cites 25 confirmed cases.

The Marlow Review will update this story as more information is received.
