Jerry Pat Smock, Sr.
Jerry Pat Smock, Sr. of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully Monday, May 18, 2020 at the home of his daughter, Kari Neal in Chattanooga, Oklahoma. He was 69 years of age.
Graveside services will be Friday, May 22, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Marlow Cemetery in Marlow, Oklahoma with Joe Ligon officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma under the direction of Dee Robertson.
Jerry was born February 24, 1951 in Duncan, Oklahoma at the old Patterson Hospital, the son of Haskell Warren Smock and Ethel Irene Whaley, Smock. His family moved to Pampa, Texas when he was quite young and remained there until his teenage years. The family then moved to Van Buren, Arkansas. He really enjoyed living there, where he made lasting friendships. He and his friend’s road their horses to church and to lakes and creeks to swim and fish in the clear water. He made several trips back to Van Buren after his family moved back to Oklahoma even after he married and had children of his own to show his young children where he lived there and to tell them stories of the fun things they did.
Jerry was preceded in death by his older brother Bill, who was killed in action in the Vietnam War, his father Hack Smock, his step-father Ray Simkins, whom he loved and adored, his mother Irene Simkins, and both sets of grandparents.
He is survived by his children: Kari Neal, Gina Lavey, (Boo) Jerry Smock, Jr., and wife Rhonda, (Bill) William Smock, Sr and wife Kristy.
Grandchildren: Ryan Lavey and wife Kortney, Dylan Elroy and wife Rain, Kade Lavey and wife Jaycee, Brooke Green and husband Anthony, Clay Smock, Kaytlyn Smock, Mikahla Lavey, EmmaLee Smock, Adgie Neal, Augustus Neal, Carson Tracie, and Tyler Lavey.
Great-grandchildren: Gunner Lavey, Ryker Lavey, Gauge Lavey, Camden Elroy, and Rhett Green.
He is also survived by one sister, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
