Pass to Serve on Advisory Council

Bray-Doyle High School student Rylie Pass was named to the State Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council for 2021, along with 96 other Oklahoma students.

The Council, which is now convening for its sixth year, assists State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister and the Oklahoma State Department of Education in policy matters.

“Students have a lot to say about their education, and it is critical that we listen to them,” Hofmeister said in a press release announcing the council members. “The direct insight we receive from our students is incredibly valuable, and each year I am encouraged by the thoughtful reflection and fearless vision of these brilliant young leaders.”

Students chosen for the Student Advisory Council are recommended by their district superintendents and represent schools across the state. This is the second year that Pass will serve on the Council.
