Mary Katherine "Katie" Cook 75, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at her home in Duncan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Couch officiating, interment will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Katie was born on Sunday, October 28, 1945 in McAlister, Oklahoma to Elmer W. & Mattie Irene(Weddle) Hickman, she attended Duncan School and graduated from Duncan High School in 1963. Katie and James were married December 28, 1962 in Wichita Falls, Texas, and to this union three children were born; Jerry, Nickie Jo and Robin, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a member of the Sunshine Girls and First Freewill Baptist Church.

Katie is survived by her husband; James of the home, son: Jerry W. & Shea Cook of Edmond, Oklahoma, daughters; Nickie Jo & Gary Singleton of Lawton, Oklahoma, Robin & Tim Hayali of Piedmont, Oklahoma, brother; David B. & Cathy Hickman of Waco, Texas, and grandchildren; Zachary & Rebecca Whitehead, Morgan Whitehead, Katie & Larry Baker, Mattie Hayali, Noah Hayali, Reagan & Rob McPhearson, Kaylee & Noah Frank, Brynn Cook and Nolan Cook, Melanie & Robbie Merriman, Kristie Shults and great-grandchildren;Wyatt Whitehead, Russell Whitehead, Wesson Whitehead, Lillie Baker and Willow Baker, Charlie Ann Shults, Marlee Merriman and Micajah Merriman and several nieces and nephews.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents; Elmer W. & Mattie Hickman, brother; Bobby Wayne Hickman and sister Viola Jane Hearon.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

It has been requested to please wear a mask for the visitation and the service at the church.
