The Marlow City Council voted at Tuesday’s meeting to accept bids for the Eddie Palmer Park Concession building project. Bids will be accepted until 2pm on Monday, September 27 and specifications for the project are available at Marlow City Hall or on the City’s website, www.cityofmarlow.com under “Projects for Bid.”

The Council also approved actions to seek two grants: the OneOk Emergency Responder Grant for fire equipment in the amount of $5000 and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Transit Programs Division grant under the 5310 program for $900 for the senior nutrition vehicle.

The Council adopted the cybersecurity and information technology policy for the City of Marlow, as well as updates to the Council/Trustee Handbook.

In his report, Treasurer DB Green said that the City is approximately 8% through the fiscal year and is “on target” so far.

Library Director Tina Bennett was unable to attend the meeting so Council members received a written copy of the annual Library Report.

“Tina always gives us a good breakdown on this,” Mayor Jeff Prater said. “It’s impressive to see the number of patrons that use our library…when we get this report, it’s always impressive.”

During the Marlow Municipal Authority meeting, the Trustees accepted a Mutual Aid Agreement with the American Public Power Association. City Administrator explained that the City has several such agreements in place, but that this one would include an agreement on the National level.

“It’ll be good to have in place in case we ever need it,” McPherson said.

In his City Administrator comments, McPherson said that Phase 3 of the Transmission Line Pole Replacement project began on Tuesday and should be completed by Thursday.
