Second Annual MHS Art Auction, March 31
Marlow High School art students will hold their second annual Art Auction on March 31 from 6 – 8pm at the MHS Auditorium. Auction preview will be from 6 – 6:30 and the auction will begin at 6:30. During the preview, guests may view the auction items or stroll through the hallway to see art on display from Arlyn Brantley’s art classes.
The first art auction, held in 2021, raised over $6400 for the MHS art program. The funds were used to purchase supplies and pay for ongoing activities, including $3500 for a new pottery kiln.
“Frankly, I was quite humbled and surprised to see so much support in our community,” Brantley said. “I knew that our parents cared about our kids but the town overall showed overwhelming support. People seemed to like the auction atmosphere as they got to bid on works by local students and area artists including Dan Hazel, Spanky Davis, Jolene Lloyd Forbes, Janet Loveless, Ross Ridge, and others. I hope people will come back to see the amazing pieces we have for auction this year.”
Students have drawn and painted work for sale; local businesses have donated Marlow-themed items and gift cards. Special gift baskets will also be available for auction.
Kenny Baker will again offer his services as auctioneer for the event.
The program is still accepting donations; contact Arlyn Brantley at 405-201-5014 or email arlynbrantley@gmail.com for more information
