Elijah James “E.J.” Crow

Elijah James “E.J.” Crow, 94 passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Marlow. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, with Rev. Ron Maxfield officiating. Burial was held in Marlow cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation services in Marlow. E.J. was born Monday, August 20, 1928 in Grapevine, Tx, to Erskin and Lela (York) Crow. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1946. He went to work for Rock Island Railroad by the age of 19. He married the love of his life Nellie “Nancy” Lee Marsh, February 27, 1948 in Earlsboro. E.J. and Nancy celebrated more than seventy-one years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2019. He moved his family to Marlow in 1963, they opened Otasco in May and it still remains open to this day. In 1975 E.J. and Nancy moved to a farm south of Marlow to raise Angus cattle. E.J. enjoyed the farming and cattle business. E.J. loved to go camping and fishing on vacations with his family and friends in Red River, New Mexico. They went to Red River for 50+ years together. E.J. was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow. He was a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, and sang in the choir. He had a passion for music and singing. He and Nancy also enjoyed hosting the Crow family reunions at Thanksgiving for nearly forty years. He always put his love for the Lord and his family above all else and he cherished the time spent together. E.J. will be deeply missed by all of his family, friends, and much of the community. Survivors include two sons, Mike Crow and wife Barbara of Marlow, Ronnie Crow of Lawton; Five grandchildren, Kristy Goodrich and husband Greg, Cindy Crow, Nathan Crow, Andrea Kemp, Eric Crow and wife Wynona; Seven Great grandchildren Clay Hepburn and wife Sterling, Kaley Arrington and husband Ryan, Hanna Hepburn, Evan Crow, Tristen Crow, Rayden Crow, and Brealynn Crow; Six great-great grandchildren, Tristan Hepburn, Violet Hepburn, Thea Kimbro, Quinn Arrington, Baleigh Shepherd, and Barrett Shepherd; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. In addition to his loving wife Nancy, E.J. was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Floyd Crow, Harold Crow, Olan Crow, William Crow, two sisters Mildred Ziegler and Mae Willis. The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff of Choice/Kindful Hospice, his daily caregivers, and a special thank you for the loving and attentive care provided by his great-granddaughter Kaley Arrington. Pallbearers will be; Bob Hill, Tom Travis, Gene Cobb, Lynn Bailey, Ron Newby, and Tim Crow. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Barbara Taylor, Lou Ann Callaway, Terie Callaway Greaves, Terry Beard, Blake Berry, George Gower, Mike Shea, Cornerstone Sunday school class & Deacons of FBC.
