Wrestlers exhibit their strengths on mats during Outlaw Open

The annual Outlaw Open wrestling tournament was held Wednesday, Nov. 23, traditionally the day before Thanksgiving, at the new gym in Marlow. First-place earners for Marlow were Tommy Miller, Keller Kizarr, Brayden Bowman, Brantz Bateman, Zach Dawson and Brock Smith. Several other Marlow wrestlers earned, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in overall and matches.

Coach Andy Howington said there are around 75 students in the program, which consists of 7th to 12th graders.

“That’s about average. We had a good showing at our open tournament. It was the first competition for a lot of the high school kids,” he said. “We are going to have to wrestle well to repeat last year’s finish. We have some holes that are going to be filled by guys making the line-up.”
