Mary "Margaret" Elam (1926-2022) Marlow, OK

Mary “Margaret” Elam, 96, died Saturday, December 10, 2022, in Marlow.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Eternal Life Church, with Clay Nichols officiating.

Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Visitation for Margaret will be at the funeral home 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Margaret was born Sunday, June 27, 1926, in Marlow, to Thomas and Martha Patterson.

She lived in Marlow all of her life and spent her time being a homemaker.

Margaret married the love of her life, Walter Jack Elam, in 1944 in Archer City, TX.

The two were married for more than 33 years before he preceded her in death in 1977. She loved the Lord, enjoyed going to church and she was a member of Eternal Life Church in Marlow.

She loved flowers, anything horse-related, and cooking large meals to feed an army.

Margaret would frequently make different breads during the holidays to hand out, just as a kind gesture to others. She loved her family the most. Margaret never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. Margaret was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Survivors include daughter, Bonnie Jo Trobee; grandchildren: Jackie Davis and husband Ron, Wesley Trobee, Rusty Elam and wife Kelly, Kelly Elam and wife Kristi, Stacy Brown and husband Paul, Shane Elam and wife Terina, Heather Ruthstrom and husband Jason, and Curtis Elam and wife Misti; 21 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and two more expected; two brothers, Roy Patterson and JR Patterson; daughter-in-law, Ramona Elam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons, Walter (JR) Elam and Kenneth Elam, four sisters, two brothers, son-in-law, Wayne Trobee.
