Dale Carter Bryant (1934-2022) Duncan, OK

Dale Carter Bryant, 88, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, in Duncan.

Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at Calvary Baptist in Duncan, with John Bryant officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Dale was born Thursday, July 5, 1934, in Pettit, TX, to John James and Nora Pearl (Carter) Bryant.

He was a graduate of Pettit High School and later attended OMBC, where he earned his master’s degree in English. Dale lived most of his life in the Stephens County area.

He married the love of his life, Yvonne Cooper, June 25, 1953. Dale and Yvonne celebrated more than 69 wonderful years of marriage together at the time of his passing. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and yard work. Dale also enjoyed doing word search puzzles and watching old Western movies on the TV and watching the birds and squirrels. Most of all he loved his family and always cherished the time spent with them.

Dale leaves behind his loving wife, Yvonne, of the home, three daughters, Laura Savage and husband Frank of Marlow, Linda Craig and husband Ernest of Duncan, and Lanita Garrett and husband Robert of Marlow, 10 grandchildren, Leland “Ricky”, Rebecca, Rana, Jenny, Thomas, Mandi, Adam, Eric, James, Janis, and, Eadyn, 25 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Koster and husband Merland, and Meyrel Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John James Bryant, and seven sisters - Mildred, Wilma, Janice, Jean, Joyce, Ann, and Peggy.
