Trio of accidents keep Marlow’s First Responders busy over holiday weekend

January 05, 2023

The New Year’s weekend began and ended with accidents, according to Marlow Police Captain Tony Aguilera. The first accident happened when a driver fell asleep and drove off the road, coming to a stop when the car rolled and hit a concrete culvert. He was lucky and didn’t have to make a trip to the hospital.

Accident number two happened when a Nissan Frontier pickup driven by a Marlow individual failed to yield at a stop sign at US 81 and Steele. A semi-truck driven by a man from Oklahoma City rear-ended the car. No hospital transports.

The final accident of the holiday weekend for Marlow responders was Sunday night, on US 81, on the south end of the city near the Walmart facility. A woman was attempting to cross the road with her bike after dark when she was struck by a vehicle. She was airlifted from the Walmart parking lot to OU Medical, but was listed in stable condition as of Tuesday morning, said Aguilera.
