Commissioners to meet Tuesday, and again Wednesday
A special meeting has been set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 by the Stephens County Commissioners, to discuss and possibly take action to approve the Sheriff’s Department request to apply for the 2023 National Criminal History Improvement Program Supplemental Funding (NCHIP-SF) Grant through the District Attorneys Council Federal Grants Division for an AFIS Fingerprinting Machine.
The county commissioner’s regular weekly meeting has been moved to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, as the courthouse was closed Monday in recognition of MLK Day.
Agenda items for Tuesday’s meeting include discussion and possible action on the following items:
*Transfer of Funds – Adjustment to Disbursements between the Rural Fire-ST Fund and the SH Svc Fee Fund for Geo Safe Services.
*Agreement for the Administration of the Use Tax Resolution #2022-99 between the Oklahoma Tax Commission and the County of Stephens levying a county use tax of seven-tenths percent (.7%) upon use within the County effective Jan. 1, 2023.
*Aapprove a Fiscal Recovery Funds Expenditure Documentation form authorizing the use of ARPA funds to pay purchase orders #3213, 3214, 3215, and 3216 encumbered for the purchase of four Responder Pursuit Pickup Trucks for the Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $268,167.04.
*Approve a State of Oklahoma Department of Transportation County Action Report detailing the location of county roads previously known as Ellsworth Lane and Lynx Drive providing certification that the roads in question do hereby comply with the definition of a public road by being located on either existing section line right-of-way, public right-of-way through adverse possession or other dedicated right-of-way record and are open for public travel at all times and are maintained by the County and are eligible for inclusion in the County’s certified road mileage. The adopted roads are located in District #1.
*Approve a State of Oklahoma Department of Transportation County Action Report detailing the location of a county road previously known as Shamrock Road providing certification that the road in question does hereby comply with the definition of a public road by being located on either existing section line right-of-way, public right-of-way through adverse possession
or other dedicated right-of-way record and is open for public travel at all times and is maintained by the County and is eligible for inclusion in the County’s certified road mileage. The adopted road is located in District #1.
*Adoption of a Declaration of Surplus Resolution for certain items of equipment on behalf of Stephens County District #2. (List of items available in County Clerk’s Office.)
*Adoption of a Resolution for accepting a donation of approximately 10,000 yards of dirt on behalf of Stephens County District #1.
Stephens County Fair & Expo Rental Center Agreements to be considered for the following individuals:
*Juan Dominguez for a birthday party event to be held in the Harvest Room, Jan. 28.
*Sandra Jackson for a Black History Committee Meeting to be held in the Winchester Room, Feb. 4.
*G. Helderman for a Jackpot Pig Show event to be held in the North Barn, the South Barn, and the Livestock Arena, Feb. 4.
*Bre Elrod for a Baby Shower event to be held in the Heritage Room, Feb. 11.
*Joseph Best for the Best Family Reunion event to be held in the Harvest Room, July 15.
Also scheduled is the weekly report from Commissioner Russell Morgan regarding the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center and fairgrounds; and if any business regarding ARPA grant or projects.
