Athena Brownfield’s remains identified, gag order issued

The remains of a child that were recovered Jan. 17 in Grady County, near Rush Springs, have been identified as Athena Brownfield, 4. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) recovered the remains, after a non-stop search began Jan. 10 in Cyril (Caddo County) when a postal worker discovered Athena’s 5-year-old sister outside, alone, scared

and hungry. Two caretakers of the Brownfield girls were arrested in connection with the missing child. Alysia Adams, 31, and her husband, Ivon Adams, 36, are being held in the

Caddo County Jail. He is charged with first degree murder and child neglect. She is charged with two counts of child neglect. According to public court records, a gag order has been

issued. This means law enforcement and attorneys are prevented from speaking publicly about the case
