Herman “Wendell” Morrison, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in Marlow.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the New Song Church in Chickasha, with Pastor Mark Hays officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Wendell was born Sunday, February 23, 1936, in Bray, to Herman and Pauline (Bowman) Morrison.

He was a graduate of Duncan High School and lived in Rush Springs most of his life. For a period of time, Wendell served as a proud member of the National Guard. Wendell worked as a machinist for Halliburton for 33 years and as a line foreman for 10 years.

He married the love of his young life, Glenda Moore, in 1959, at the Gatlin Baptist Church in Marlow. Wendell and Glenda shared many wonderful years together until she preceded him in death on March 12, 1993. He went on to marry the second love of his life, Shirley Barnett, January 18, 1994, in Wichita Falls, TX. Wendell and Shirley shared more than 23 wonderful years of marriage together until she preceded him in death on October 29, 2018.

He enjoyed fishing of any kind, especially catfish. Wendell loved catching bass in his younger years. He was a collector and loved his collection of watches, fishing reels, and knives. Wendell loved his family the most and he cherished any time he spent with them. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include son, Bryan Scott Morrison of Crystal Lake, MO, four daughters, Kimi Hays and husband Mark of Marlow, Joetta Presley of Rush Springs, Linda Farmer and wife Logan of Rush Springs, and Jessie Bishop of Marlow, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, brother, Keith Morrison and wife Anita, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to Glenda and Shirley, Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Nick Morrison and Phil Morrison, a sister, Vickie Hinkie, and a great-grandson, Mathais Bailey.
