County Republican Party to elect county officers, hosts RNC speaker

The Stephens County GOP will hold its biannual Precinct Meetings and County Convention, Thursday, at 1404 W. Main St. (Faith Church) in Duncan.

Precinct meetings will begin at 6 p.m. and the Convention will gavel in at 7 p.m.

“This is "Grassroots" politics at its finest. Most everything that happens in the Republican Party starts at the precinct level and works up,” said Leon Farris, Chairman for Stephens County GOP.

Electing officers for the coming two years and hearing potential resolutions for rules or platform changes, Farris said this event will also have two speakers, Steve Curry, Oklahoma Republican National Committeeman, will provide an update on what is happening nationally at the RNC; and State GOP Chairman A.J. Ferate will give the keynote address.

“Besides Governor Stitt, these two men are the highest-ranking Republican Officials in Oklahoma and we are honored to have them in Stephens County,” he said.
