Second Annual Harlem Wizards Game Generates Dollars for District

Marlow PTO’s Harlem Wizards vs. Blue Crew basketball game was another slam dunk fundraising effort. “We were able to give each of our campuses $3,400 and Beautiful Day Marlow $1,500,” said PTO President Kara Choate.

She said that in the two years of hosting this event, the organization has been able to generate and donate more than $30,000 for the Marlow Public School District and Beautiful Day Marlow Foundation. All three campuses (elementary, middle and high school) were gifted $8,900 and Beautiful Day Marlow, $4,000. “We love what we get to do for our school and when we get to have our entire town involved with so many smiles and excitement, well, it doesn’t get much better than that. Choate said it is only possible because of the contributions made by everyone.

Marlow PTO, Beautiful Day and Delta Sigma volunteers all contributed to the efforts. Marlow PTO volunteers were Jenni Blackburn, Amanda Williams, Kristen Eden, Angela Johnson, Kara Choate (Event Director), Tara Thompson, Bobbie Jo Winburn, Christina Mitchell, Lyndse Sager, and Jenny Head. Beautiful Day volunteers were Tiffany Dunlap, Skye Wortham, Shonda Trueblood, Whitney Peck; and volunteers for Legacy Bank Marlow, were Duane Lovett, Melissa Mowdy, Kendra Spears, Isabella Nunn and Valerie Arms. Delta Sigma volunteers were Jamie Bostick, Angel Newberry, Dana White, Dana Osborn and Lorri Davies.
