Bray-Doyle Band sends 4 to OSSAA State Competition

Four students of the Bray-Doyle Band program attended the OSSAA State Band Competition in Stillwater, April 18, on the Oklahoma State University campus.

“All students did very well and I am very proud of their hard work and dedication,” said Director Matt Lucas.

Kole Gensamer received a Superior rating, and Sara Franklin received an Excellent rating. Lucas also mentioned Judson Dorman and Ashlynn Abney as doing well in performance.

“We have many more events coming up that the band students are excited about. The Bray-Doyle Middle School and High School Band will be traveling to Oklahoma City to participate in a music competition on May 6 (Saturday). After performing, the students will enjoy the day at Frontier City Amusement Park.” The bands will finish the school year with a spring concert, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 9. Their theme will be “Into the Galaxy.”

“Bray School and community has been very supportive of the music program and the students have accomplished so much this year,” Lucas said. He encourages anyone who enjoys school band programs to attend the year-end performance.
