Hot Day – Hot Job

Marlow Firefighters were quick to the scene for this truck fire at a private residence in the 600 block of Kiowa Street on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Temperatures for the day were over 100 degrees, with a high heat index also. Fire Captain Jason Miller also was on the scene, overseeing the first firefighter efforts of EMT Jamie Fitch. It was her first day on the job as a firefighter. She put in the muscle to pry the truck hood up. Miller said the resident had only been home for about five minutes when alerted to the fire. Neighbors saw the flames. Some of the awning over the carport also melted from the extreme heat of the vehicle fire. Nobody was injured. Photos by Toni Hopper/The Marlow Review
