Visitation will be at Callaway-Smith-Cobb in Marlow from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, and 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 16.

Peggy was born October 17, 1934, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Rush and Myrtle (Dorman) McKay. Peggy lived all her life in the Marlow area until she and Eugene moved to Oklahoma City in 1989.

She worked at AOA, Grave’s Drug Store and several other jobs in the Marlow and Duncan area and enjoyed each one, making special friends along the way.

On June 30, 1953, she married her loving husband, Eugene Nichols in Lawton, OK.

They shared a full and happy life together until his passing April 28, 2017. She loved family and friends with a passion. She was a wonderful cook, making it all look easy while hosting family and extended family for every holiday, birthday, and sometimes just because. She loved spending a lot of time with grandkids and great-granddaughters and she truly adored them. She was very much a hub for the neighborhoods she lived in. Neighbors know she always had a cup of coffee and would more than welcome them. She is going to be greatly missed by family and her many friends.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter, Ronnie Nichols of Cashion, Randell Nichols and wife Jolene of Kansas, and daughter Becky Nichols of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Cory, Darren, Jessica, and Kasey, and seven beautiful great-granddaughters. She is survived by her sister, Helen Walters of Marlow, and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Jennifer Nichols, granddaughter Bobbie Jo Nichols, 2 brothers, R.C. and Junior Rush McKay, 7 sisters, Lillie Mae Barnett, U.B. McLearen, Jorene Ford, Evelyn Patterson, Reba Howell, Shirley Jean McKay, and Mary Ann McKay.
