Doyle Wayne Cullum (1944-2023) Amarillo, TX

Doyle Wayne Cullum, 79, of Amarillo, left this earth for heaven on Monday, August 28, 2023.

Services will be held at South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023, at with Pastor Mike Martin and Chaplain Karen Wells officiating. The burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Doyle was born in Marlow, Oklahoma on March 20, 1944, to Orville Faye and Lessie Erzell (Noblett) Cullum. He graduated from Marlow High School in 1962. He served two years in the United States Army at Fort Carson, Colorado. On Dec. 30, 1967, he married the love of his life Patricia Ann (Jones). He moved to Amarillo, TX in 1973. He retired from BSA Hospital (formerly High Plains Baptist Hospital) in 2008 after 25 years of service.

Doyle was known for being able to fix anything. He loved to go fishing. His favorite place was his cabin at Foss Lake. He loved to cook big breakfasts for the entire family. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, OU Football, and COPS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Orville Cullum, and nephew Jason Cullum.

Doyle is survived by his wife Patricia of the home, their children Angela Paine (husband Jay), Darrell Cullum (wife Jacqueline), Amanda Maurer (husband Jason), and Sarah Torres (husband Steven). Grandsons: Johnathon Paine (wife Nohely), Judd Cullum, Cy Cullum, and Presley Hostetter. Granddaughters: Kaitlyn Paine, Kelsi Paine, Charlie Kirk, Emily Torres, Payleigh Maurer, Kashleigh Maurer, Lauren Torres, Brixleigh Maurer, and Maezleigh Maurer. Brothers: Gerald Cullum and Gary Cullum both of Marlow, Oklahoma.
