Myrtle Inez Newport-Case (1928-2023) Marlow, OK
Myrtle Inez Newport-Case, 95, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, in Marlow.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the Marlow Cemetery, with Zac Potts officiating. Burial and all arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, at the funeral home. There will be a family visitation from 6 to 8 p.m.
Myrtle was born Thursday, February 16, 1928, in Mannford, to Floyd Wright and Fannie Mae (Petross) Newport. She lived in Enid most of her life before making Marlow her home 27 years ago.
Myrtle married the love of her life, Jack Case, on October 17, 1951, in San Angelo, TX. She and Jack celebrated more than 55 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in December 2006.
Myrtle lived her life by the Lord and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow. She led the prayer chain at church for many years. Myrtle loved attending her nephews' sporting events and she enjoyed reading anything and everything. She also enjoyed having her Dr. Peppers and Crunch Bars. Myrtle will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include two nieces, Nita Newport, and Tracy Hamman and husband Tim, three nephews, Robert Newport and wife Alicia, Mark Newport, and Ricky Newport and wife Diane, three great-nephews, Lane Newport, Cole Newport, and Reed Newport, and great-niece, Abby Newport.
In addition to her loving husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Buddy, Olan, Bobby, and Tommy Newport, sister, Hazel Smith, and two sisters-in-law, Lola Bea and Marlene Newport.
