Marlow to host Chickasha in home opener

Marlow takes on Chickasha on Friday, in the Outlaws season opener, right here in Outlaw Stadium. This will be the 62nd time for Marlow to have opened its season against Chickasha.

"Our biggest challenge we face is it is our first game and we are playing a team with one under their belt," said Outlaws Head Coach Matt Weber. Chickasha opened its season Aug. 25 against El Reno with a huge loss 64-24 on their own field. Both Chickasha and Marlow finished 2022 with a 7-4 season.

"We have to do the first game things great, limit turnovers and win the kicking game," Weber said.

Marlow's second game, Sept. 8, will again be on home turf - against Comanche.

This will be the 78[th] meeting with Chickasha (2[nd] behind 82 meetings with Comanche).

Marlow first played Chickasha in 1917, losing 30-6. The last game played was Sept. 2,2022, again at Chickasha, with Marlow earning a win, 45-14. Chickasha's last win over Marlow was in 2019, 20-7.

Chickasha's Head Coach Joe Molder is a 2003 Chickasha graduate. He's been off the field since 2021.
