Wanda (Whitehead) Morrison (1943-2023) Bray/Marlow, OK
Wanda (Whitehead) Morrison passed peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Duncan, Oklahoma. Her family was by her side.
Wanda was born March 18, 1943, in Bailey, Oklahoma, to Elton Lee and Blanch Beatrice (Davis) Whitehead. On July 1, 1966, she married Phil Morrison in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Bray High School, class of 1961, and lived in Stephens and Grady counties most of her life. She attended Heritage Oaks Church in Duncan and was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
Wanda was preceded in death by husband Phil; her parents; grandparents Oscar and Pearl Davis, and Clinton and Willie Mae Whitehead; brothers Clinton “Slick” Whitehead and Elton “Jiggs” Whitehead; sisters Claudine “Toosie” Manning and Rebecca “Becky” Nix; infant twin brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Whitehead; her in-laws; and many family members.
She is survived by: son Buddy Morrison and wife Ena of Duncan; daughters Lisa Huckabaa and husband Alan of Duncan; Kristi Jenson and husband John of Papalote, TX; and Paula Huckabaa and husband Russell of Duncan; brother Roger and wife Katrina of Bailey; sister Linda Peddycoart of Marlow; an aunt, an uncle, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Granny Wanda was abundantly blessed with her grandchildren: Maryssa Lopez of San Antonio, TX; Jordan Huckabaa of Norman; Jacob and wife Jacy Huckabaa of Norman; Cody Huckabaa and wife Arya, of Moore; Destini Dorer and her brother Maverick of Ardmore; Roger Plata of Houston, TX; Kara McDaniel and husband Chris of Duncan; Kellie Alvarez and husband Hilario of Duncan; Samantha Huckabaa of Oklahoma City; Hayden Huckabaa and wife Sunshine of Marlow; Kristi Littleton of Port Aransas, TX; and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Heritage Oaks Church, 4595 W. Beech in Duncan. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
