Elmer Gordon McNutt (1928-2023) Marlow, OK
Elmer Gordon McNutt, 95, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, in Marlow.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Eugene Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Cemetery in Hobart at a later date under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Gordon was born Saturday, January 7, 1928, in Hobart, to Elmer and Eleanor (Brower) McNutt. He was a graduate of Hobart High School and later attended college at Oklahoma State University.
Gordon married Juanita Sue Prather, on April 19, 1951, in Muscogee County, GA. He and Juanita celebrated more than 63 years of marriage together until she preceded him in death on December 10, 2015. Gordon worked in retail for more than 25 years and spent time serving as a proud member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He lived in Hobart for more than 75 years until relocating to Marlow eight years ago. Gordon enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. He also enjoyed skeet and trap shooting, woodworking, and going to garage sales. Gordon loved his family the most and always loved spending time with them. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Brewer and husband Don of Fort Smith, AR, and Terri Smith and husband John of Marlow; grandchildren, Stephanie and Danny Morlan, Shelby Brewer, and John Lyon, Tim and Alexandra Brewer, Kristen and Kirk Prucha, Allison and Brandon Burchfield, and honorary granddaughter, Bre Frizzell; great-grandchildren, Maddie Ross, Andrew Ross, Davis, Bennett and Harrison Brewer, Paige Pollard, Naomi Prucha, and Preston and Gunner Burchfield.
In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dale McNutt, and sister, Myrna Garrison.
