Marlow Chamber Bringing Fall Festival to Main Street
The Marlow Chamber of Commerce is hosting a new event, the Marlow Fall Festival, set for Saturday, Oct. 28. The event will begin at 1 p.m. and a free concert featuring numerous artists will begin at 6 p.m. on Marlow's Main Street.
Live music, hayrides, cornhole competitions, vendors, food trucks and trick-or-treating are just some of the things planned for this event. An event like this also takes plenty of help and the Chamber has numerous volunteers. Planning has been in the works for quite a while now, said Chamber Director Destiny Ahlfenger.
With the help from what was previously the Second-on-Second committee, vendors have been asked to return to Marlow for what is now the Fall Festival. "Event attendees can look forward to bounce houses, pony rides, contests, and fellowship. And, of course, the Marlow merchants will have their wonderful selection of items for purchase, sidewalk sales, and in-store events," she said.
"The Marlow community looks forward to events such as this," said Larry Johnson, Chamber Treasurer, "and we are glad to work together with the folks who did Second-on Second for this new event."
The concert series will kick off at 6 p.m. on Marlow's Main Street and there will be live music throughout the festival. Headlining the concert is Jack Tidwell and the Lockbreakers. Additional artists featured at the festival are: Adara Kay, Nikki Jackson, Erik Davis, Bryan Gerhart, Reece Williams, and School of Rock OKC. The concert is free and event attendees are encouraged to bring seating.
A corn hole tournament will take place on the corner of 2nd St. and Main St. with more than 20 teams already committed. To sign up, simply bring your team on the day of to register.
Marlow First Baptist Church will have hayrides in true fall fashion. Pumpkin carving and painting contests also are planned. Bring your pumpkin to be judged to win a prize. A variety of vendors from boutique trailers, to pop-up shops will be available. "We have several vendors signed up and all our food truck positions are filled and we are looking forward to such a fun day," Ahlfenger said.
