Best Friends Travel for Life and Laughter

Lifelong friends Sarita Wheat and Bridgett Garrett traveled to California in August for sightseeing up and down the West Coast. They stopped at Hearst Castle and numerous other tourist destinations during the nine-day trip.

The last three days of the trip were spent with Dick and Maudi Weaver in their Huntington Beach home. Maudi is the daughter of the infamous Lola Mae Rife of Marlow. Lola Mae babysat Sarita and Bridgett when they were three-years-old.

"Thus a lifetime of memories is cherished," Sarita shared. The friends are two of a group of four ladies, also known as "Girls on the Go" who have traveled to different destinations each year since their own children were young. Karen McPherson and Sheila Gregston joined in the travels. Christi Monsey was one of the original four, Wheat said, but has since moved out of town.

For 70 years, the group has shared laughter and made plenty of fun memories that have lasted a lifetime.

"Everyone should have a best friend," Wheat said. The first time the group traveled together was to Kansas City, MO.
