Vineta June Butler, 95, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, in Sulphur, Oklahoma.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Denton Baptist Church, with Brother Joe Price officiating. Burial will be in the Denton Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma.

June was born Monday, Oct. 29, 1928, in Marlow, to Jack Nunley and Kathleen Johnson. June lived in the Denton area for most of her life, enjoying 89 years in this area before relocating to Ardmore to be closer to her daughters.

June met the love of her life Melvin Butler, and the two were married on Dec. 9, 1946, at the Denton Baptist Church. Together they raised four daughters before Melvin preceded her in death. June was an intelligent woman, finishing her education at the Baptist Missionary College. June will be remembered for her love of cooking, She was the head cook over the meals served at the Denton Baptist Church and loved to make sure that everyone got plenty to eat. June's other hobbies include sewing, spending time with her grandkids, canning vegetables, and making sauerkraut.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley Labrosse and husband Don of Mustang, Donna Collins and husband Jim of Ardmore, Debbie Bodurant and husband Jim of Springer, one son-in-law, Charles Jung and wife Patty of Marlow, 12 grandchildren, Shelly Quissenberry, Jeff Wiggins, Chad Jung, Jennifer Harper, Danny Ramsey, Aaron Brown, Justin Ramsey, Cory Brown, Samantha Farmer, Lisa England, Jenifer Baker, and Jason Bondurant, 30 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Betty Fraiser of Shawnee, and a sister-in-law Sarah Ellen Letham, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by father, Jack Nunley, mother, Kathleen Johnson, husband, Melvin A Butler, daughter, Glenda Jung, grandson, John Labrosse, grand, Dustie Collins, grandson, Jeremy Jung, Great Granddaughter, Kami Brown.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Wiggins, Jody Farmer, Chad Jung, Cory Brown, Aaron Brown, Danny Ramsey, and Justin Ramsey.
