Traffic collision began with alleged theft of vehicle
A 16-year-old male juvenile was transported by air to OU Medical Center after a crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday on 9[th] St. near West Wind Assisted Living Center in Marlow.
Marlow Police Chief Ronnie Smith said that a Marlow officer was checking Eddie Palmer Park when he noticed a driver engaged in wreckless driving "doing donuts." The officer tried to stop the unknown driver, who then exited the park and traveled southbound for about seven blocks, at which time the car left the roadway and hit a tree.
Smith confirmed that the vehicle was reportedly stolen from a Marlow residence. He said Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the accident scene. Information on the juvenile's condition was not available at press time.
