Failure to stop sends two teens to hospital

A personal injury collision occurred at 12:13 p.m. Friday, March 22, on OK-74, four miles north of Elmore City, in Garvin County. Two minors, 15-year-old male and a 14-year-old female, both of Lindsay, were transported by private vehicle to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City. The boy was treated and released, and the female with admitted with head and trunk internal injuries. The collision occurred when the 2021 Polaris Ranger side-by-side, that was driven by the male, failed to stop at a stop sign and travelled into the path of a 2005 Ford that was being driven by Dereck McPherson, 42, of Duncan. McPherson and his wife, Aubrey, 38, were not injured. They also had a female passenger, age 8, also reported as not injured. McPherson was northbound on OK-74, and the Polaris was eastbound on CR 1610. The female passenger on the Polaris was ejected, 15 feet from point of impact, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. Condition of McPherson was listed as apparently normal and cause of collision was the failure to stop at sign by the young male on the Polaris. Neither teen on the Polaris were wearing seatbelts.

Rider loses control of his Harley-Davidson

A personal Injury collision occurred Friday, March 22 at 4:58 p.m. on E. 1800 Rd. and US-81, approximately 1 mile north of Comanche in Stephens County. Sean M. Lowe, 42, of Newall, was driving southbound on US-81 on his 2006 Harley-Davidson when he lost control of the motorcycle, laying it down, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. He separated from the motorcycle when laying it over. He was transported by Survival Flight (air) to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was admitted in serious condition with arm and internal trunk injuries. Cause of collision is under investigation. The road was closed for 1 hour and 12 minutes.
