Motorcyclists in two separate collisions transported to hospitals

Jennifer S. Bilberry, 47, of Duncan, was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City by Survival Flight Air, where she was admitted in stable condition with leg and internal trunk injuries, after a collision on April 6.

According to the OHP report, the event occurred at 4:18 p.m., on OK-58 at NW Meers Porter Hill Road, four miles north of Medicine Park in Comanche County. Bilberry was a passenger on a 2021 Harley Davidson Road Glide driven by Michael D. Tefler, 70, of Apache, when a vehicle driven by Nija N. Thompson, 38, of Lawton, failed to stop at the stop sign on CR Meers Porter Hill Rd. and struck the Harley that Tefler and Bilberry were on.

Neither Thompson nor her juvenile passenger, age 6, were injured.

Tefler was transported by Survival Flight – Air to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries. OHP report noted condition of drivers were apparently normal, but helmet was not in use for Tefler.

A Marlow man, Jimmy Burch, 44, was involved in a personal injury collision, around 12:43 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024. The collision happened nine miles south of Hodgen, OK, in LeFlore County. Burch was driving a 2007 Black Honda VT7 motorcycle, southbound on US-259 and attempted to avoid animals in the roadway, according to the report. Burch lost control and laid over in the roadway, as noted in report. He was transported by Airevac to Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Hot Springs, AR. He suffered head and external injuries and was admitted in stable condition. He was not equipped with a helmet, noted the report issued by OHP Southeast Region Communication Center.
