Local Talent Reece Colin Performed at Lake Texoma on Independence Day; Album Released in October

This Independence Day, the shores of Lake Texoma resonated with the voice of Reece Williams, known professionally as Reece Colin. Located on the border between Bryan County, Oklahoma, and Grayson County, Texas, Lake Texoma is formed by Denison Dam on the Red River, offering a picturesque backdrop for the celebration.

Reece Colin recently made waves with the release of his debut album "Westbriar," which dropped on October 8th, 2023. Featuring tracks like "Slow Rolling," "Six String Love Story," "Coming Home," and "Hollow Man," Reece showcases his knack for storytelling through country music. Each track on "Westbriar" reflects Reece's deep connection to his roots and his ability to evoke emotions through his lyrics and melodies.

"My biggest musical influences are Ryan Bingham, Evan Felker of the Turnpike Troubadours, and Jason Isbell," Reece shares. "They each have their own very unique styles, and I’ve learned so much about songwriting from listening to them."

Reece's musical journey started in Duncan, his hometown, where he honed his craft and gained recognition through performances at local venues such as Dicintios Pizza Parlor in Marlow, Kochendorfer Brewery, and Wallstreet in Duncan. His music resonates with audiences, blending elements of country storytelling with modern influences.

"Trey Clinckenbeard from Old 81 band has helped me tremendously when it comes to songwriting and getting my music out to the public," Reece acknowledges. "Also, Jack Tidwell from the Lock-breakers has offered invaluable insights about the music world that many people don’t think about."

Inspiration for Reece's music often comes from everyday experiences and the stories shared by people around him. "I love sitting and listening to people’s life experiences," he says. "It’s the little things people say or something that happens to me that gets me thinking and eventually puts pen to paper."
