Voters in Stephens County took to the polls this week, and the unofficial election results from the Stephens County Election Board as of Tuesday night declared that  Stacy Jo Adams cinched the win for District 50 Republican State Representative and that Marlow residents voted AGAINST the Marlow Public Schools Bus Proposition.

Adams beat Andrew Aldrige 2,058 - 1,290 according to the unofficial results.

After becoming the first in her family to graduate high school, Stacy Jo attended classes at Cameron University, and took the leap into the insurance industry where she became a very successful agent.

She opened her own insurance agency in Duncan. She and her husband, Ricky, have been married for 14 years and have 7 boys. Stacy Jo and the family attend the Grand Assembly in Corum, where she also teaches Sunday School.

The Marlow Public Schools proposition required 3/5s of the vote to pass, but fell short of that 419 - 286.

The bond would have gone towards the purchase of a new school bus fleet for Marlow Public Schools to replace the aged buses and would have seen property tax increase by 2.5%.
