Sunshine OHCE hosts October meeting
October 17, 2024
Sunshine OHCE met on October 3rd at the Stephens County Fairgrounds. Vicki Zimmerman and Carol Byford Hall were the hostesses. Carol read scripture from Numbers 6: 24-26 which says, “The Lord Bless and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. In addition, she read from Jeremiah 29: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Indeed, our hope is in the Lord. There were 21 members present with Brenda Gandy-Jones, OSU Extension Educator as a guest.
Everyone was reminded that all county OHCE groups will meet at the County Council Meeting on October 22nd. Sock donations for the homeless will continue through this meeting. Sunshine continues to collect food for the Blessing Boxes to be distributed throughout the county.
Other upcoming events are Barn Quilt Classes October 18th and 19th; community members are encouraged to attend and should call OSU EXT. at 580-255-0510 to sign up. Your spot is reserved upon payment of $40 for non-OHCE members and $30 for OHCE members. These are very popular classes so early sign up and payment is recommended. Leadership Training for Officers and Committee chairs and members will be November 12th at the Technology Center.
The next meeting is scheduled for November 7th at 9:30 am at the Stephens County Fairgrounds. If you would like more information about the Sunshine Group or OHCE, call the OSU Ext. office: 580-255-0510. Prospective members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
