Marlow Outlaws crush Crossings Knights

The Marlow Outlaws showcased their dominance on the field, defeating the Crossings Christian Knights 31-0 in a game marked by powerful rushing attacks and a staunch defense. 

The clash on October 11, 2024, was a display of teamwork and determination as the Outlaws overwhelmed their opponents from the start. From the opening kickoff, it was clear that Marlow was in control. The first half saw a series of powerful runs, with Blayd Harris leading the charge. 

After a scoreless first quarter, Harris found the end zone with a one-yard touchdown run at 11:43 in the second quarter, followed by a successful extra point kick, putting Marlow ahead 7-0. Just before halftime, Jonathan Brite added to the scoreboard with a 26- yard rushing touchdown, bringing the score to 13-0 after a missed extra point attempt. 

Marlow continued to build their lead in the second half. A 24-yard field goal by Clayton Robinson at 6:23 in the third quarter extended the lead to 16-0. The fourth quarter saw the Outlaws continue to dominate, with Harris scoring again on a 10-yard run, followed by a successful two-point conversion pass to Jaxson Murray, making it 24-0. Hudson Morgan capped off the scoring with a five-yard touchdown run, ensuring a final score of 31-0. 

The Marlow offense was relentless, racking up 293 total yards, with an impressive 222 yards on the ground. Harris led the rushing attack with 73 yards and two touchdowns, while Morgan contributed 94 yards and a touchdown of his own. Brite added 45 yards and a touchdown, showcasing the depth of Marlow’s rushing game. In contrast, the Crossings Christian Knights struggled offensively, managing only 156 total yards, with just 63 rushing yards on 29 attempts. Quarterback Tristan Berglan completed 11 of 18 passes for 93 yards, but the Knights were unable to find the end zone, facing tough resistance from Marlow’s defense, which recorded 11 tackles for loss. 

Marlow’s defense was a standout feature of the game, holding Crossings Christian to a mere seven first downs and forcing two turnovers. Their ability to limit big plays and pressure the Knights’ offensive line was key to their shutout victory. The victory improves Marlow’s record to to 4-1 on the season and 3-0 in Class 2A-I District 2 play, and cements their position as a formidable force. The #4 ranked Outlaws next face their toughest contest of the year when they travel to Washington on 10/17/2024 to face the #1 team in Class 2A-I and the defending State Champion Warriors.
