Marlow student crowned Homecoming King at SWOSU

Marlow’s Landry Freeman was named Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Homecoming King last week. 

Freeman, a 2022 Marlow High graduate, is a Junior at SWOSU with plans to attend medical school after college. He is the SWOSU Student Government Association President, the organization that nominated him to the homecoming court. 

Freeman, a Biology major, was named as King with Elk City’s Carlie McKinnon being named as Homecoming Queen.

Freeman and McKinnon were finalists, selected through an online student vote, and had to face interviews with a panel of students, faculty, and administrators.
The finalists for Homecoming Queen included Audrey Boyd, sponsored by Sigma Phi Lambda. Boyd from Yukon, Oklahoma, and Early Childhood Education major as well as another Elk City resident Bella Butcher, majoring in Health Science, sponsored by Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
The Homecoming King finalists included Jaxson Billingsley, from Comanche, a Health and Physical Education major sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and John David Elam, an Accounting and Finance major from Shattuck, who represents the Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
These finalists took part in the SWOSU Homecoming Parade at 10 a.m. before the winners are crowned during halftime at the football game.
