Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, November 18, 2024 at Central High Baptist Church with Otey Enoch, Mark Enoch, Sam Buzzard, and Darrell Blaine officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery. Odell was born June 28, 1929 in Mulhall, OK to Case C. and Effie Gertrude (Dillon) Enoch. He attended Central High School before furthering his education with a BA and a MA in education at Central State University, as well as a year-long course of study at Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Odell served his country in the United States Army, and through the Merchant Marines. He married the love of his life, Fern Bryan, on June 10, 1955 at Central Baptist Church. Odell was an educator in Oklahoma. He taught school at Stoney Point and Elgin, was elementary principal at Garber, and Superintendent at Loco. He finished his career, teaching Oklahoma History at Tomlinson Jr. High School in Lawton. Odell and his brother, Otey B. Enoch, farmed and ranched in the Central High Community. Odell enjoyed reading, especially Louis L’Amour novels and books about the Second World War. However, his love for reading and history could not compare to the love he had for, and the time spent with his family. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed supporting Central High School’s sports teams. Odell was a member and deacon of the Central High Baptist Church. His legacy will continue on through the memories of his students, friends, and family. Survivors include his wife, Fern, two sons: Otey Enoch (Cheryl D.) and Mark Enoch (Cheryl A.); three daughters: Vickie Kurtz Proctor (Terry), Connie Mellin, and Lynne Boles (Kris); seventeen grandchildren: Ryan Kurtz, Terry Kurtz, Sandi Young, Brad Boles, Mitch Boles, Michael Kurtz, Shane Enoch, Josh Boles, Kandice Davis, Zachary Mellin, Micah Enoch, Hannah Long, Owen Enoch, Michaela Elwood, Ben Mellin, Brittany Ruggieri, Peter Enoch, and their spouses; one “adopted” daughter, Tami Morgan; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Odell was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and six sisters, and son-in-law, Lloyd Kurtz. Pallbearers will be Ryan Kurtz, Terry Kurtz, Brad Boles, Mitch Boles, Michael Kurtz, Shane Enoch, Josh Boles, Zachary Mellin, Micah Enoch, Owen Enoch, Ben Mellin, and Peter Enoch. Memorial contributions may be made in Odell’s honor to the Oklahoma Baptist Children Home, International Mission Board, or Central High Baptist Church Building Fund.
