Thurman Chris Brown

Thurman “Chris” Brown, age 78, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Crystalrock Cathedral at Ardmore, Okla., with The Reverend Walt Spradling officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla.
Chris was born on May 7, 1946, at Marlow, Oklahoma, to Thurman Ben Brown and Ruby Edna (English) Brown. He attended school in Marlow and graduated from Marlow High School with the Class of 1964. Chris married Miss Linda Ann Baker at Duncan, Okla., on January 18, 1966. He served his country in the US Army National Guard from November 1964 until December 1972. Chris studied at the International Bible Institute Seminary and earned a degree in Theology. He became an ordained minister through the General Council of Assemblies of God in 1993. He owned and operated Chris Brown Typewriter Company. He began his ministry at Northwest Assembly of God church, now CrystalRock Cathedral, as Childrens Bus Pastor, Jr. Boys Sunday School teacher, Royal Rangers Leader, taking boys camping at Camp Timothy, Young adult class teacher, then launched into Full Time Ministry by Rev. Walt Spradling. Over his lengthy career of serving as Head Pastor, Chris served at Faith Cathedral at Pauls Valley, Okla., First Assembly of God at Waurika, Okla., Full Life Fellowship, Decatur, Texas, Bethel Assembly of God, and Word Alive, at Ardmore, Okla.  He was a talented artist and in his free time enjoyed painting. Whatever he did was filled with love and plenty of laughter. 
He was preceded in death by sons, Tracey Lee Brown and Timothy “Timmy” Chris Brown, father, Thurman Ben Brown, and mother, Ruby Edna (English) Brown. 
Chris is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Ann Brown, of North Richland Hills, Texas, son, Terry Lyn Brown and wife, Jeannette Brown, of Grapevine, Texas, grandson, Terren Brown of Arlington, Texas, and granddaughter, Jilena Brown of Grapevine, Texas, in-laws, Don and Donna McMahon, sister, Paulette Bishop, a host of nieces, nephews, and many who called him “Dad”.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cooper Paramore, Dustin Paramore, Randy Morales, Steve Mills, Kelly Roberts, Mike Good, Jon Good, and Roy Wesberry.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, December 13, 2024, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
