Marlow Outlaw swim teams make waves in 2024 season

The Marlow Outlaw swim teams have made waves early in their 2024 season with a series of competitive performances across three meets. This year marks a milestone for the program, as it fields both a boys' and a girls' team, showcasing the depth of talent in the community.
November 5 – Duncan Invitational
The season began at the Duncan Invitational, where Marlow faced stiff competition from teams such as Duncan, Bishop McGuinness, Putnam City, Piedmont, and Bethany. Miguel Lara led the charge for the boys' team, securing 3rd place in the 50-meter freestyle and 4th in the 100-meter breaststroke. On the girls' side, Gracie Lara delivered a strong effort, placing 15th in the 50-meter freestyle.
November 14 – Mid-Del Senior Classic
The Mid-Del Senior Classic saw the Outlaws competing against powerhouse teams including Deer Creek, Ponca City, Yukon, Carl Albert, Fort Gibson, and others. Miguel Lara once again stood out, finishing 10th in the 50-yard freestyle and 9th in the 100-yard breaststroke.
December 6 – Duncan Invitational
December 6 marked the first meet with all team members present, including football players, Bootleggers, and cheerleaders joining the roster after just three days of practice. Despite limited preparation, the Outlaws delivered impressive performances against a field featuring Duncan, Mustang, Lawton, Harrah, Elgin, Choctaw, Classen, and Burkburnett.
The boys' team placed 8th in both the 200-meter medley relay and 200-meter freestyle relay, with contributions from Brodie Duncan, Miguel Lara, Cruz Sanchez, and Grant Woods. The girls' team excelled in the 200-meter freestyle relay, with Paytin Nunn, Millie Sanders, Gracie Lara, and Natalie Banks finishing 5th.
Individually, several swimmers achieved remarkable results:
Miguel Lara: 9th in the 50-meter freestyle and 10th in the 100-meter breaststroke
Cruz Sanchez: 8th in the 50-meter freestyle
Brodie Duncan: 6th in the 100-meter backstroke
Natalie Banks: 13th in the 50-meter freestyle
Mylee Moore: 18th in the 50-meter freestyle
With strong early performances and growing participation, the Marlow Outlaw swim teams are poised for an exciting season. Coaches and fans alike are eager to see how these athletes continue to develop and compete against the best in the region.
