Linda Kay (McConnell) Palmer
Linda Kay (McConnell) Palmer, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Duncan, at the age of 77. Born on August 14, 1947, in Marlow, Linda was a cherished member of her community, known for her friendly demeanor and unwavering dedication to her family.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, with Pastor Mike Peercy officiating. Burial will follow at the Marlow Cemetery, all burial arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services.
Viewing will be held Monday, January 6, 2025, between the hours of 12:30 PM- 7:00 PM, as well as Tuesday, January 7, 2025, between the hours of 8:30 AM- 7:00 PM, with a family and friend visitation between the hours of 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Linda attended Marlow High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundations for a future filled with love and laughter. Her career as a florist manager at Goodner's Flowershop was marked by her artistic touch and warm interactions with customers, making every arrangement a testament to her care and attention to detail.
Her love for gardening and tending to her yard was second only to the joy she found in spending time with her adored family. Linda was the loving mother of sons Dane Palmer and his wife Tammi of Duncan, and Chris Palmer of Stillwater. She was the proud grandmother to Nicholas Palmer and his husband Seth Phillips of Dallas, Danika Thomas and husband Matthew McFeely of Bixby, Dace Palmer and his wife McKena of Oklahoma City, Amanda Palmer of Ponca City, and CaLee Thiele and her husband Myles of Yukon. Her legacy continued to flourish with her great-grandchildren Carson, Lola, Gavin, Cannon, Lincoln, Mia, Liza, Rookie, Dansby, Haddley, Olivia, Lucas, Kimber, and Jameson. Additionally, she held a special place in the heart of her niece Nicole Taylor and her husband Tim of Houston.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Artha Williams and Earl McConnell, her step-dad Stonewall Williams, her brothers Billy Don and Tommy Gene, and her sisters Mary Joyce and Earlene.
Those who knew Linda will forever remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and friendliness. Her radiant smile and generous spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Linda's life was a beautiful garden she cultivated with love, and her memory will bloom eternally in the hearts of her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Linda's grandsons.
