Marlow's Blayd Harris named Region 5 Player of the Year

April 24, 2025

Marlow High School standout Blayd Harris has been named the Region 5 Player of the Year, capping off an impressive season with one of the region’s highest honors.
Harris was also selected to the 2025 All-Region 5 Team, which is made up of top high school basketball players from across south central Oklahoma, regardless of grade level or school classification. The team is selected by head coaches from the 55 schools within Region 5, which includes programs from Class 6A through Class B.
Representing Marlow with pride, Harris stood out among a competitive field of athletes, earning recognition not only as a top performer but as the best overall player in the entire region.
Marlow High School is one of several schools in Region 5, which includes neighboring programs such as Duncan, Bray-Doyle, Central High, and Velma-Alma. The award is a testament to Harris’s hard work and leadership on the court, as well as the strength of the Outlaws basketball program.
Also named to the All-Region 5 team was Marlow’s own Blayd Harris, who joins a list of standout players from schools like Norman, Moore, Sulphur, and Washington.
Washington’s Trevor Smith was named Coach of the Year.
The Region 5 honors are organized by the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association (OBCA), which represents hundreds of coaches across the state and plays an influential role in shaping basketball at the high school level in Oklahoma.
Congratulations to Blayd Harris on this remarkable achievement—Marlow is proud!
