Students from Marlow Public Schools showcased their hard work and dedication at the Oklahoma Youth Expo, one of the nation’s most competitive livestock shows.
School officials praised the group for representing Marlow with pride through the long days and demanding competition that define the annual event.
Several students brought home top placings across multiple divisions:
Avery Throckmorton led the group with an impressive list of honors, including Reserve Supreme Commercial Gilt, 22nd Overall Dark Cross Gilt, Reserve Breed Spot Barrow, Champion Light Cross Barrow, and 15th Overall Hamp Barrow.
Harper Cox earned multiple top-five finishes, placing fifth in both the Purebred Ewe A.O.B. Class 3 and Dorset Wether Class 2, along with an eighth-place finish in Intermediate Ewe Showmanship.
Audrey Kirby placed sixth in the Purebred York Barrow division, while Reagan Ahlfenger secured second place in Class 1 Purebred York Barrow. Elle Ahlfenger added an 11th-place finish in the Dark Cross Gilt category.
Paisley Thorne also turned in a strong performance, earning first place in Dark Cross Barrow Class 2, ninth overall in Division 1, and 23rd overall.
Oakley Farmer rounded out the list of placings with a 10th-place finish in the Doe division.
In addition to those recognized, school officials emphasized their pride in all students who competed at the event, noting that qualifying for the Oklahoma Youth Expo is itself a significant achievement.
“The Oklahoma Youth Expo is one of the toughest livestock shows in the country, and simply earning the opportunity to compete there is an accomplishment in itself,” the district said in a statement.
Marlow’s strong showing highlights the continued success of its agricultural programs and the commitment of its students both in and out of the show ring.
